Project Description: 1000 ℓ/h Economical Potable Water System
Context: A small community in a rural area had the need to have drinking water available. The targeted site is a children’s home and do not have the funding support to have municipal water constantly available to the institution. A borehole is however available on site. A community service project is initiated by building a water treatment plant on the premises to treat the high saline borehole water. The treated water is transferred into the reticulation system of the institution.
Process Configuration: Water from borehole source, gravity fed ultrafiltration (UF), reverse osmosis (RO), carbon filters
Product Water Quality: SANS Class I drinking water.
